2013 Young Artist Scholarship Competition
The competition is open to any Central Illinois area high school senior who will graduate int he spring of 2013 and will enroll in a college or university in the fall of 2013 to continue musical studies. Debbie Wright Memorial Fund Award
This scholarship was established to aid a student who is pursuing a bachelor's degree at the University of Illinois in a medical related field. The recipient must demonstrate an excitement for learning and show financial need. Please see your counselor for an application. Deadline is April 5, 2013.

Red Mask Players, Inc.
The Red Mask Players, Inc. will be presenting the Jean Lewis Scholarship award this year to a local high school, or college student, who has expressed an interest in the pursuit of the performing arts while in college. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate a continuing interest in theater by their past, or present, participation in local theater. Performing artists applying will be asked to audition before the committee on April 17th or 24th between 7 and 9 PM. Please see your counselor for more information and an application. Illinois Division of Sons of Confederate Veterans
The Sons of Confederate Veterans Illinois Society, Military Order of Stars and Bars (SCV/MOS&B) is offering a $1000 scholarship to a graduating senior, male or female, who resides in Illinois and will be enrolling in the Fall at a community college, college, or university. Students must be a descendant of a male who served honorably in the Army, Navy, judicial, executive, or civil service of the Confederate States of America. Danville Eagles (Youth Football) Scholarship
Danville Eagles Youth Football is a community nonprofit, all volunteer organization whose mission is to provide quality recreation and skill development in the game of football and cheerleading for all youth in Vermilion County ages 5-14. In order to be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must: be a resident of Vermilion County, participate in football or cheerleading, plan to continue their education at a 2- or 4-year college or university, have at least a 2.0 GPA, and have financial need. Helen Conover Memorial Scholarship
The Helen Conover Memorial Scholarship was established to aid seniors in continuing their education. Applicants should have at least a B average, currently be taking a Foreign Language in at least the 6th semester, be a good citizen, have participated in extracurricular activities, and intend to enroll in an accredited college or university. Andrews/Brumett Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is given in honor of Clark and Katharyn Andrews and Joe and Agnes Brumett, Sr. It is available to any graduating high school senior living in Vermilion County that will attending DACC in the fall of 2013. BAGI Scholarship
The Balloon Association offers scholarships to Farm Bureau member students majoring in agriculture or an ag-related program. Up to four $500 scholarships will be available to both graduating seniors as well as current college students. Applications are available at www.bagiballoon.org. Deadline is March 31, 2013.

Lester Shick Scholarship
The Education Personnel Federal Credit Union is owned entirely by our members and is operated by and for them exclusively. EPFCU membership respresents employees (and their relatives) of public, private and parochial schools in Vermilion County, IL. Scholarship will be awarded to qualified graudating seniors, present DACC students, present university students and adults continuing their education. Only members and tehir sons and daughters will be considered for the Leter Shick Scholarship. Applicants must be in the upper half of their class. Illinois Lumber and Material Dealers Association Educational Foundation Scholarship
The Illinois Lumber and Material Dealers Educational Foundation is a not-for-profit organization established to aid and promote lumber industry education throughout Illinois. Among the activities of the Foundation is the awarding of academic scholarships each year to selected students to pursue industry-related course work at colleges and universities. These scholarships will assist and encourage qualified students to further or continue their interest in selecting the lumber and building materials field as a career. Pay it Forward Scholarship
A better community is created when members not only fulfill their duties, but look out for others. It is of great importance to our family that we share our good fortune with others, and "pay if forward." The recipient of this scholarship will benefit from the generosity of three generations of educators. Carle Auxiliary Scholarship
Any person accepted into, or currently enrolled in, an accredited/certified healthcare professional curriculum is eligible to apply. Applicants must be a permanent resident of one of the following Illinois counties: Champaign, Clark, Clay, Crawford, Cumberland, Dewitt, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Fayette, Ford, Iroquois, Jasper, Lawrence, Macon, Moultrie, Piatt, Richland, Shelby, or Vermillion. Decisions on awards are made after a careful consideration of each student's scholastic achievement, letters of recommendation, financial need, life and work experiences, and other factors. This scholarship fund was established to aid students to continue their education in the medical field. IL Elks Children's Care Corporation, Physical/Occupational Therapy College Scholarship
This program is available to those high school graduates seeking degrees in Physical an dOccupational Therapy only. Last year this program awarded 130 scholarships between $500 and $5000. This application is renewable for up to six years to only Illinois residents.Applicants must have at least a B average. Applications are availabe online at: www.iea-ieccc.info. Cellular One Scholarship
Cellular One of East Central Illinois is pleased to increase the amount of their individual scholarship awards to local high school seniors to $1000 each. Twelve $1000 scholarships will be awarded to local high school seniors who are Cellular One customers or are the children or grandchildren of Cellular One customers. Applicants must have at least a "B" average, reside in Clay, Clark, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Jasper, Lawrence, Richland or Vermilion county, and be in enrolling in one of the 2-year or 4-year state colleges in the Cellular One service area: DACC, Lake Land CC, Lincoln Trail College, OlneyCentral College, or EIU. Boehm Visual Arts Scholarship
The Boehm Visual Arts Scholarship was established to aid students who will actively pursue a college/university major in the Visual Arts. A student must declare a major in either drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, art education, architecture, graphic design, industrial design, fashion design, or computer animation. Vermilion County Bar Association
The Vermilion County Bar Association will again be rewarding two scholarships. To be eligible, an applicant must be a resident of Vermilion County, be seeking assistance in an undergraduate or graduate program, and must have at least a 3.0 GPA. DHS Athletic Scholarship
The Danville High School Athletic Boosters Club is offering two scholarships. This scholarship is to go to one boy and one girl who have participated in sports during their high school years, displayed good citizenship, and in the top half of their class. Joe D. Ward Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is intended for a Danville High School graduate, planning to enroll in an accredited college or university in the field of education. Kennekuk Road Runners Scholarship
Each year the Kennekuk Road Runners Running Club of Danville, IL awards one or more cash scholarships to area high school seniors involved in the sports of cross-country or track, or individual participation in distance running or walking events. This is a non-needs based award. Applicants must be going to a 2- or 4-year school, or into the US Military or vocational school. See your counselor for an application. Deadline is May 1, 2013.

Vermilion County Retired Teachers Association
The Vermilion County Retired Teachers Association will be awarding three scholarships in 2013. Scholarships will be given to high school seniors who plan to attend college in the fall of 2013 and who plan to pursue a career in teaching. See your counselor for an applciation. Lori Lyons Special Education Scholarship Sponsored by the Danville Chapter of AMBUCS
The Danville Chapter of AMBUCS will offer 2 $500 scholarships to seniors graduating from the Danville and Vermilion County area who are pursuing a degree in the field of Special Education. Business Women of Vermilion County Scholarship
The Business Women of Vermilion County will be awarding two $1000 scholarships this year to female high school graduates of Vermilion County. The award is given to further advance young women's education in business and professional careers, a purpose of the organization. Applicants must be accepted as a first year student in a two or four year college, be in the upper third of her class scholastically, and should be in need of financial aid. Each year, the Christie Foundation awards over $125,000 to students pursuing degrees in the medical field through their Health Education Scholarship program. From pharmacology to nursing to nutrition to surgery and many other medical fields, scholarship awards help create tomorrow’s medical professionals. For the John C. Sanders Scholarship, applicants must be in the top 10% of the class or a member of the National Honors Society. Gary C. and Phyllis J. Rogers Fellowship
Phyllis and Gary Rogers, honorable and respected members of the community, as well as outstanding educators, received the "Those Who Excel Award" given by the State Board of Education to educators who have made an enormous difference in the lives of students, parents, fellow teachers, and administrators. The Gary C. and Phyllis J. Rogers Fellowship award was established to aid students in continuing their educaiton. Seniors should be in the upper third of their graduating class OR have at least a 3.0 GPA, be involved in extracurricular activities and community service, demonstrate financial need, and plan to enroll in an accredited college or university. Adam D. Wagner Memorial Scholarship
The Adam D. Wagner Scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior who was in soccer or who is pursuing a major in Criminal Justice. The five criteria used to select the scholarship recipients are: academic standing (above average grades), the essay, letters of recommendation, school activities and sportsmanship. Altrusa Club-Ruth Sandeson Award
Students who have taken a minimum of seven semesters of high school Social Studies are eligible for Social Studies Honors. They must have received an A in at least six of those classes with no lower than a B in the remaining class. One Social Studies Honors student will be chosen to receive the Altrusa Club/Ruth Sandeson Award. The Altrusa Club Scholarship is a part of the Club's mission of promoting literacy and community service and is presented in memory of Ruth Sandeson, a former DHS graduate and Social Studies teacher and Department Head. Reuben/Florida Reed Scholarship
This scholarship is to honor the memory of Reuben and Florida Reed, whom dedicated their lives to their family of 14 children, their church and their commuinity. Two people, whom never had the chance to pursue a higher educaiton but encouraged their children to reach their fullest potential. McDonald's Scholarship
This scholarship is for anyone who is currently employed at one of the five Vermilion County McDonald's and has been working for at least six months. You must have a minimum performance rating of good, be a hard worker, and show leadership in the workplace. See your counselor for an application. Deadline is April 20, 2013.

John Stevenson Athletic/Academic Scholarship
John Stevenson was an outstanding athlete and student at Danville High School who graduated with the Class of 1955. John was well liked and admired by his classmates and was considered a class leader. He was a member of the Honor Society and was on the Honor Rol every semester. He was also awarded nine athletic letters in baseball, basketball, and cross country. Applicants must have played a Varsity sport for at least two years and must have at least a B average. Illinois Heartland Decorative Artists Scholarship
The Illinois Heartland Decorative Artists, a local chapter of the Society of Decorative Painters, Inc., has established two scholarships to be awarded to art students who will graduate from high school in 2012-2013 and attend college following graduation. Talent, desire, area of college study and financial need will all be considered. The IHDA will also award $250 to the Art Dept. of the recipients' high schools to be used to further Art Education. The Epsilon Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will provide competitive scholarships for the 2012-2013 academic year. Scholarships are designated for African-American female students, which are to be applied towards expenses directly related to post-secondary education (tuition, fees, room and board, books, etc.). Dean Ritter Trust for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
The Dean Ritter Trust for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is introducing a tuition scholarship for graduating seniors who are hearing impaired and intending on enrolling in an accredited university or technical school for the 2013-2014 school year. Applicants must be a resident of Illinois, have a significant (severe to profound) hearing loss in one or both ears, and exhibit financial need. See your counselor for an application. Danville Bears Scholarship Award
The Danville Bears Scholarships are determined by the DCPB Scholarship Committee and are awarded annually. Applicants will be considered eligible to apply for a scholarship if they meet the following criteria: Plan to pursue an education beyond the high school level (trade school, apprenticeship, community college, university, etc); participated (played football or cheered) in the Danville Carver Park Bears Youth program; will be a graduating senior in the Class of 2013; is still participating in competitive high school football/cheer or any sports; have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher or have an ACT Composite Score of 16; and demonstrate good sportsmanship and citizenship qualities, high moral character, and show potential for leadership and academic success.
